We have now moved the grid, breakpoints and spacing out of MDS Experiments to production-ready.
These are are now fully supported by the Maersk Design System.
VS Code extension, tree navigation and theme switch
We’ve added three new features into MDS Experiments.
VS Code extension
A new Visual Studio Code extension for developers, integrating the MDS with IntelliSense. You can find the extension on the VS Code Marketplace and for more details on using the extension, please read our VS Code extension for MDS blog post.
Tree navigation
We have developed a series of CSS classes in our @maersk-global/mds-foundations package for styling a tree navigation typically shown in a pages’s sidebar. You can see this in action on the MDS website and read over our developer documentation on our Storybook website.
At the moment, this feature is for developers only. We aim to have designer support by the end of Q1 2025.
Theme switch component
Thanks to Steve Workman for contributing a new theme switch component.
This component makes it simple to integrate light and dark mode switching on your website / application and we have integrated this on the MDS website (check it out in the top right corner of this website!).
